ITINERARY
DAY 1: Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. City tour around the city: Salta was founded in 1582 and retains a Hispanic character that distinguishes it from the rest of the Argentine capitals. We find houses, churches and colonial style museums surrounded by hills. Visit to San Bernardo Hill with panoramic view of the city. Then visit the summer village San Lorenzo and the Artisan Market among other places of interest.
DAY 2: Breakfast. Today we will make a trip through the Quebrada declared World Heritage, where the landscape and the colors of the hills are combined with the equally colorful cultures that inhabit this area. It is a journey of social contact and a view of the ancestral. It begins with the arrival to Purmamarca to observe the Hill of the Seven Colors, the Church and the Artisan Market of the square. Pass by the Posta de Hornillos, continuing towards the town of Tilcara to visit the Pucará and the Archaeological Museum. Continue to Huacalera, pass of the Tropic of Capricorn, from where you can see the colors of the hill called the Pollera de la Colla. Visit to the Uquía church, where there are the paintings of the Arcabuceros Angels (important vestige in the area of the Cuzqueña school). Arrival in Humahuaca with its important Cathedral and the Monument to Independence (El Indio). Return after lunch to observe from the route the Paleta del Pintor that frames the town of Maimara. Arrival to San Salvador de Jujuy where you will visit the Hall of the Flag and the Cathedral Church, with its characteristic pulpit carved in wood and laminated in gold and the statues of Lola Mora. Returning to Salta at the end of the day.
DAY 3: Breakfast. Departure from Salta, going up the Cuesta del Obispo to 3,348 meters above sea level where the Los Cardones National Park is located. From here you descend to Valle Encantado, a small valley that marks the transition between the mountain and the pre-puna. Arrival to Cachi and time to have lunch and visit the chapel and its archaeological museum. We continue on Route 40 through small towns and the broken arrows. Arrival to Cafayate, small town of ten thousand inhabitants surrounded by vineyards and wineries. Accommodation in Cafayate.
DAY 4: Breakfast. In the morning wine tasting. Cafayate is the birthplace of the famous torrontés wine. The altitude of the area and the sunny days allow to create intense wines. The Torrontés is full of smells, it is soft to the nose but dry and refreshing. In the afternoon return to Salta through the Quebrada de las Conchas, where the erosion of wind and water created curious shapes in the stones. The Amphitheater, the Devil's Throat, the Toad and the Castles, among others. Accommodation in Salta.
DAY 5: Breakfast. Transfer to the airport to take a flight to Mendoza (flight not included). Arrival in Mendoza and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the afternoon free.
DAY 6: Breakfast. In the morning, we meet our host, the wine guide who will accompany us throughout the tour. Departure to the wine oasis of the Uco Valley, where the most prestigious wineries producing high-end wines are located and where the landscape offers a unique value to this circuit. Visit to 3 wineries, touring its facilities and enjoying the tasting of its wines. The guide will make an exhibition about the elaboration processes, as well as the care, aging and fractionation of different types of wines. It will also include extensive information on vine and irrigation systems. At noon we will participate in a lunch at the restaurant in a prestigious winery in the area, enjoying a renowned cuisine. We will put into practice the techniques of tasting and the guide will explain in detail about the importance of cork in the bottle and the use of glasses to taste.
DAY 7: Breakfast. Airport transfer End of our services.
